Independent Websites Sporadically Blocked


Since December 19, dozens of independent websites have been temporarily down for unknown reasons.

Among them: tut.by (technical glitches on  December 19), onliner.by (excluded from the national domain zone by OAC upon request of the Trade Ministry; the website owner solved the issue by transferring the content to online.by and redirecting to onliner.ru), Charter’97, Belarusian partisan, website of the online newspaper Solidarity (gazetaby.com), website of the independent news agency BelaPAN (naviny.by),  informational resources udf.by and zautra.by (access troubles since December 20), and website 21.by. The websites reported blackouts occurring periodically for unknown reasons. It is reported that most troubles appear for users of Beltelecom, and vary from one provider to another.
